April showers bring May flowers and painting flowers is a favorite subject of this instructor. Capture the natural beauty of florals and other still life subjects while working directly from life.  Through carefully prepared exercises and instructor demonstrations, the student will learn to develop their skills – the richness of color and texture of flowers and other still life make for an exciting painting. As with all of Katie’s classes, there will be personal attention to help with each student and weekly critiques with student participation. Maximum of 10 students.

drawing board or foam core for backing on easel

vine charcoal or a pencil for studies
soft pastels (not oil pastels) – set of 60 or more. Rembrandt sets of half-sticks are a good basic brand
roll of Viva paper towels
Papers: For beginning students - Canson Mi-Teintes papers, size 19 x 24 cut in half(felt gray, flannel gray, or sand, etc. - no white or buff colors)OR, Ampersand board size 11 x 14 or any of the sanded papers in size 11x 14
