Academy Art Museum Awards Student Art Exhibition Awards


The Academy Art Museum opened its 2019 Mid-Shore Student Art Exhibitions highlighting the artistic talents of students in grades kindergarten through 12 from Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Queen Anne and Kent counties. A variety of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and printmaking is included among the nearly 800 pieces of artwork included in the exhibitions. The Mid-Shore Student Art Exhibitions have been a Museum tradition for over 25 years and are the largest and most prestigious student art exhibitions on the Eastern Shore. The exhibition will be on display through February 24, 2019.

Over 300 people attended the high school reception held for grades nine through 12. Winners of the high school awards were First Place: Jayden Mullinix, Emily Loveless, and Cara Brown; Second Place: Hannah Kerr, Annie Sanford, and Hannah Claggett; Third Place: Mariana Parkinson, Haley McMaster, and Suzy Li; and Honorable Mentions: Lillian Muckleroy, Brooke Bates, Grafton Howard, Theresa Surina, Lynzie Gardner, Kate Riggleman, Grace Sutherland, Helen Boone, Olivia Hershey, Gretchen Kinnamon, Briana Mood, and Cassidy King.
