Jennifer Chrzanowski Appointed Academy Art Museum’s Development Manager
Jennifer Chrzanowski has been appointed the Development Manager at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD. She comes to the Museum from Augusta Museum of History in Augusta, Georgia where she was Operations Manager for the Museum and historic house. There she managed all aspects of the fundraising and membership efforts, marketing and creating special event programming. Prior to working at the Augusta Museum of History, she was Director of DNJ Gallery in Los Angeles, CA, and Marketing and Public Relations Director of the Melanee Cooper Gallery in Chicago, IL.
Chrzanowski holds a Master’s in Arts in Photography from Columbia College in Chicago, IL, and a Bachelor’s in Arts in Film, Photography and Electronic Media from the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL. She also holds a photography certificate from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
Originally from Chicago, Chrzanowski comments, “I grew up going to some of the most exciting and popular art museum in the country. I’ve also always loved seeing contemporary artists develop their practices. At the Academy Art Museum, I will have the rare opportunity to help raise support for and awareness of the amazing range of art education and exhibition offerings for all ages.”
With her love of art museum and background in photography, she is especially excited about the connections between exhibiting great works of art, and the opportunities to learn to appreciate and create art by the public. “The Academy is a rare institution that combines top-level exhibitions with art programming and education for all ages, one of the few teaching museums in the country.”
Director Ben Simons states, “We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer to our talented staff. She is a dynamic and experienced museum professional and a delightful person. We look forward to her expertise as the Museum moves ahead with its plans for the future.”
