In Celebration of the Waterfowl Festival
Each fall, the Waterfowl Festival transforms Easton into a bustling celebration of art, wildlife, and conservation. In honor of our longstanding partnership with this cherished event, the Academy Art Museum is proud to present two special exhibitions, artist talks, demos and classes – that expand the festival’s artistic scope, inviting thousands of visitors to experience the enduring connection between birds and creativity.
Join artist Spencer Tinkham as he discusses his artistic journey from decoys to fine art. Spencer Tinkham is a Virginia based artist, who specializes in bird art. Tinkham will discuss his current Macrosculptues, which are magnified views of bird feathers inspired by actual museum specimens. He will also talk about his progression from duck decoys into the contemporary art field over a 20-year period. Tinkham has shown is art nationally and internationally. Tinkham’s art is in the collections of Dollar Tree, Inc. (Chesapeake, VA,) Florence Griswold Museum (Old Lyme, CT,) The Fralin Museum of Art (Charlottesville, VA,) Top Trumps USA, Inc. (Providence, RI,) Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum (Wausau, WI,) and U.S. Energy Development Corporation (Ft. Worth, TX.)
