Blanche Lazzell: Becoming an American Modernist – Opening Reception

Enjoy the exhibition and learn more about Blanche Lazzell and her pioneering work as one of America’s first abstract artists in the early years of the twentieth century. This exhibition originated at the Art Museum of West Virginia University (AMWVU) and AAM is honored to be the opening venue on its tour. Noted Lazzell scholar and curator Robert Bridges from AMWVU will give remarks at 6:15 pm. For those who want to learn more, gallery attendants will be available to answer questions and share information. The short documentary produced in conjunction with the exhibition will be shown on a large screen throughout the opening.
