Cost: $130 Members, $150 Non-members
Students will make their own coptic stitch sketchbook from scratch, using mixed media pages and an unfinished hardcover. They will learn the fundamentals of bookbinding, from folding and sewing to binding a text block with sewn-on cover boards. The coptic stitch requires no glue and allows the pages to lie flat. Although this sketchbook will be bound with blank mixed media drawing pages, students will learn how to apply to the process to pre-printed pages to bind handmade books from pdfs.
