The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) is the first museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts.
On display in the newly renovated museum are artists such as Hung Liu, who will have a solo show that pays homage to overlooked figures in history, predominantly vulnerable, women and children from the artist’s native China.
Additionally, for the first time ever, NMWA has produced a series of short films spotlighting collection artists. For this project, NMWA worked with the award-winning film production company Smartypants Pictures to create the series, each video profiling one contemporary artist in the museum’s collection. Artists featured include Ambreen Butt, Sonya Clark, Colette Fu, and Guerrilla Girls.
