Amze Emmons will lead a three-day workshop that explores
Zine-making, mini-comics, and simple artists’ books. Starting from Ulises Carrión’s famous quote, ‘a book is a sequence of spaces,” each participant will develop a unique Guide Book inspired by chance and personal experience. Participants will look at notions local experience through a range of creative forms of expression, including mapmaking, collage, cartooning, and hybrid writing forms, alongside simple modes of reproduction, like copiers, relief, carbon paper, frottage, stencils, rubber stamps, and stickers.

The Artist-in-Residence program, is made possible with generous support from Mary Ann Schindler and Martin Hughes.
