Back by popular demand! Matthew will be teaching students how to create exciting studio paintings capturing the beauty of the Eastern Shore – workboats, beaches, wildlife, and people. There are so many aspects of life here on the Eastern Shore that inspire artists. Matthew will explore various techniques used in oil to create a successful painting. He will demonstrate glazing, using different mediums, scumbling, dry brush, edges, blending, and grading, while also talking values, color relationships, and even which brushes to use and how to handle them. This class is a real “oil painting, back to basics.”
