Have you had an interest in art but do not know where to start? This class is for you! Developing good drawing skills is the most disciplined endeavor for any art student, but it is also the most rewarding. Through a series of fun and challenging exercises and working with a variety of subject matter, the student will gain confidence in the basics of representational art – line, shape, value and composition. This class is designed for the beginning art student, but it is also open to the artist looking to become a better draftsman.

Supplies for basic Drawing
18 x 24 newsprint pad
18 x 24 drawing pad (better paper than newsprint)
9 x 12 or 11 x 14 drawing pad (homework)
vine or willow charcoal, soft – few sticks
compressed charcoal – 2 sticks
