This class is designed to encourage the student to find their individual style. During the first three weeks, the student learns/reviews the fundamentals of the exciting medium of pastel (value, composition, color theory, and techniques). The first class will start with a mini-lecture and demonstration, the student does a pastel, incorporating what was discussed. The next three weeks, the student concentrates on the development of personal style with the subject matter of their choice. Various textures, papers, and applied techniques, including underpainting are explored. Group discussions and critiques are a part of every class. Open to all levels. Class limited to 10 students.
