Embark on a cinematic journey through the cultural evolution of the automobile, from its symbolic origins in French Formalism to the thrill of high-speed car chases in The French Connection. Drive-In brings audiences face-to-face with the automobile’s role as both a character and a canvas in film history. Each month, we’ll screen a carefully selected film that explores the car’s unique place in cinema, showcasing its power, elegance, and endless possibilities for storytelling.
With selections ranging from an avant-garde classic of the 1920s to 1970s thrillers, Drive-In offers a chance to reflect on the shifting cultural significance of the automobile, as it transitions from
a symbol of modernism to a vehicle for freedom, rebellion, and intrigue. Join us each month as we explore the art of the car on film—a journey through time, speed, and cinematic storytelling.
