Adult Education FAQ
These courses reflect a concentrated effort to provide educational opportunities for people that have never picked up a brush or a camera. Instead of offering art courses for primarily practicing artists, the Academy is committed to helping everyone nurture the urge to create, because we believe everyone has the potential to be an artist. These workshops offer an opportunity to get hands-on experience studying with some of the best artists and educators working today!
THINGS TO KNOW
Registration can be done online, or in person at the Academy’s front desk. We encourage students to register early, as many of our courses are in high demand and fill up fast.
COURSE MATERIALS
The Academy does its best to provide materials for our classes, but some courses will require students to purchase certain supplies, such as drawing paper, paint, etc. You are encouraged to email the course instructor if you would like to inquire about the supply list before registering for the course.
REFUND POLICY
If you need to withdraw from a course, please let us know in writing at least 72 hours before the class starts. We would be happy to issue you a full refund for the course, if the request is made at least 72 hours before the start of the class.
CANCELLATION DUE TO WEATHER
In the case of inclement weather, please check the museum’s website for closing information. If a class is canceled due to weather, the session that was missed will be rescheduled for a later date.
CANCELLATION DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT
If a class is canceled because of low enrollment, students will be notified 72 hours before the start of the class.
STUDENT SURVEYS
Student surveys help us to offer the best possible experience for our students and are generally sent to students on the Monday following the end of a class. If you |do not receive a survey for your class, please feel free to reach out to us and request one, or simply email the Director of Education with your feedback – we want to hear from you!
REFUND POLICY FOR VISITING ARTIST WORKSHOP
If you need to withdraw from a Visiting Artist Workshop, please be aware that our instructors often travel specifically for these classes. Refund requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the start of the class.
