Elegant Intersections: Cars and Fashion in Interwar France

Genevieve Cortinovis is the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Associate Curator of Decorative Arts and Design at the Saint Louis Art Museum, where she has curated numerous exhibitions including St. Louis Modern, Blow-Up: Graphic Abstraction in 1960s Design, Fabricating Empire: Folk Textiles and the Making of Modern Austrian Design, The Bauhaus and its Legacy, Bolts of Color: Printed Textiles after WWII. This April, she will open Roaring: Art, Fashion, and the Automobile in France 1918-1939, which, among other treasures, will feature two vintage automobiles from a renowned Eastern Shore collection.
Ms. Cortinovis holds a master’s degree in the history of decorative arts, design, and material culture from the Bard Graduate Center and a bachelor’s degree in art history from Barnard College, both in New York City.
