The classic alla prima technique perfected by masters like Peter Paul Rubens, Diego Velázquez and Frans Hals was aimed at producing a spontaneous and yet finished effect in a single painting session. Join Brad Ross in an exciting exploration of this classic technique, including the best qualities of an oil painting ground, what brushes to use and when to use them, controlling paint when working wet into wet, as well as tips on reducing or eliminating the use of solvents. Register early to receive suggested instructions concerning panels or canvases for class. Portraits in Three Colors is an excellent primer for this class. Maximum of 6 students.
