This class tackles the complexity of drawing a portrait by reducing the human head to planes and simple shapes.   Rather than leaping right into drawing from a live model, the class will make use of simplified head models.  The focus will be on the foundational concepts and skills that make it possible to draw the head in any position, to keep the features in proportion and proper alignment, and to get a likeness.  The knowledge and skills learned in this class will lead to a much more rewarding experience drawing from life.  Foundations of Portrait Drawing is open to anyone who has taken a basic drawing class and should be taken prior to taking the Portrait Drawing from Life class which follows it in March. bradross@goeaston.net
