Meg will help you simplify and translate your subjects to create more dynamic paintings. In this “visual bootcamp” the student will be introduced to a variety of exercises to improve skills in seeing color and value. The process of “seeing” in a thorough, analytical way will add to your understanding of different types of subject matter, and increase your skill in finding the maximum impact from the scene to be painted. Students will experiment with color relationships, limiting values, and compositional elements of painting. Meg will be using oil, but pastel and water medias are fine. This class is open to all levels of artists who are familiar with their medium. See Meg’s work at megwalsh.com.
