PAINTING STUDIO
Create evocative landscapes of that magical time between day and night. Students are encouraged to bring their own reference photos and will paint from both black-and-white and color images. The class will focus on how color, value, brushwork, and design can establish mood and atmosphere. Students will begin with a small value study and select a color palette that conveys their intent before starting a larger painting. Students will examine works by historic and contemporary tonalists, and Meg will give short demonstrations of block in and glazing techniques. Maximum of 6 students.
