FREE Family Art Day- Unexpected Materials
Saturday, March 7th 11 AM - 2 PM

Inspired by the innovative spirit of Robert Rauschenberg, this hands-on family art day invites participants of all ages to transform ordinary, everyday materials into extraordinary works of art. Known for his groundbreaking “Combines,” Rauschenberg pushed the boundary between painting and sculpture using cardboard, fabric, newspaper, found objects, and more to create bold, layered compositions.
In this drop-in style workshop, families will experiment with a variety of unexpected materials, from recycled items to traditional art supplies, to build dynamic mixed-media artworks together. Participants will explore composition, balance, texture, and storytelling while discovering how creative risk-taking can turn the familiar into something surprising and meaningful.
No prior art experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
