This in-depth class focuses on understanding the underlying structure of the head, from the shape of the skull to the individual features and expressions that bring it to life. Beginning with the major planes, Diane will guide students through the study of facial features, examining how forms and structures vary from person to person. Instruction includes handouts, anatomical models, and live demonstrations. Students are encouraged to complete a study each week, using pencil or charcoal.
Prior experience in portrait drawing is recommended but not required, making this class accessible for artists ready to deepen their skill in head studies.
Class Size: Minimum of 5 students, maximum of 10.
