Students will jazz up their morning with brilliant mulberry papers! They will learn how to create a harmonious collage by tearing, cutting, arranging and gluing these special textural papers. No experience necessary. Sheryl will demonstrate the methods she uses in her own unique works.
Sheryl Southwick is a national award-winning artist who graduated from Louisiana State University and studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC. She lived a year in Paris which rekindled her connection to Pierre Bonnard, whom she considers her greatest influence,
She moved to Easton in 1987 and has been part of the arts and teaching artists community ever since. Color and texture have been the main focus of her work. She teaches adults and children at both the Academy and the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center.
Sheryl is represented at the Trippe Gallery in Easton, Jo Fleming Contemporary in Annapolis and Ann Connelly in Baton Rouge.
