This class provides a solid foundation for the beginning painter or a refresher in basics for those returning to the medium. Students will gain a thorough knowledge of materials and methods, paint application, and the stages of a painting from block-in to finish. Through a series of assignments, students will learn how to mix colors using a limited palette and how to simplify shapes and values for a stronger composition. This is a great class for exploring the medium of oil painting and building confidence to create a serious painting practice. Materials are provided. Minimum of 5 students, maximum of 10 students.
