Please join us on Saturday, December 12th at 2:00 PM for an artist talk with Baltimore artist Matt Klos. Klos will discuss his current exhibition, No Ordinary Things, in the Selections Gallery, which brings together for the first time a collection of paintings spanning the past decade. Klos offers us a poetic examination of the quotidian beauty of his native Baltimore landscape, both interior and exterior. Through keen observation of the subtleties of light and a masterful rendering of tonality, Klos’ paintings depict scenes that feel like universal memories, allowing viewers a personal connection with intimate spaces. In this way, No Ordinary Things offers a contemporary response to the landscape paintings in From Sea to Shining Sea, reminding us that the grandeur of our everyday world can be just as extraordinary as the untamed landscapes that inspired artists of the past.
