Many masters, from da Vinci to Rubens, perfected the technique called aux trois crayons (with three chalks), and the results approach the effects of full color. The technique is a traditional avenue for transitioning from drawing portraits in just one color to painting portraits in limited color. This classic limited selection of colors makes it much easier to develop the sense of warm and cool transitions that is so critical to good portrait painting. In this workshop Brad will help students explore using this technique in their own work. Minimum of 5 students, maximum of 10 students.
