This class offers an in-depth exploration of subtractive sculpture, using foam, plaster, and wood. Individualized instruction will help students create abstract, figurative and 3-D portraits. The instructor will demonstrate hand-carving techniques. Principles of design will be woven into the process through the viewing of examples and videos. Beginner and intermediate levels are welcome. Students are encouraged to bring an apron, mask, and goggles for safety. Maximum of 10 students.
