State to State: The Natural World – Poetry reading by Andrea Barnes
Saturday, May 20, 6 pm

Artist and poet Andrea Barnes will read selections from her recent work in the Museum’s courtyard. In her cadenced, punctual verses, Barnes explores the natural environment of her new home here in Talbot County, offering spiritual respite, exuberant curiosity, and subtle melancholy.
Anchoring the reader in the optimistic present, the poet offers an open, anguished gaze into the past, in a lovely combination of conscious appreciation of beauty in the everyday, and suspended grief that there is no stopping time.
The reading will take place in the Museum’s courtyard and refreshments will be served. In the case of adverse weather, the event will be moved to the Performing Arts room inside the Museum.
