Great figure paintings emerge from strong starts—capturing the essence and movement of the pose in the very first marks. Through demos and exercises, this class will cover the principles of gesture, shape, and proportion. This workshop utilizes short pose exercises and discusses specific tools and strategies for improving observation skills and draftsmanship. This is a wonderful class for loosening up tight drawing styles and gaining confidence. Participants work in charcoal or grisaille from the live model. All levels welcome. Minimum of 5 students.
