Caryn Martin: The Skin of Water

Caryn Martin, a Baltimore-based artist, utilizes printmaking, painting, collage, and installation to explore the fleeting and fragile state of the environment. Her site-specific piece “The Skin of Water” is a relief paper installation that trails across the entire front wall of the Selections Gallery. The twisting and undulating components of this large installation conjure images of waves breaking during a storm, while also implying the human presence with embodied paper forms.
