During the winter of 2023 the Museum’s Teen Internship Program participants explored works in the Permanent Collection that reflect on the theme of connection. In today’s world, “connecting” and “disconnecting” can seem both easy and hard. The teens’ chosen works demonstrate the physical, emotional, or symbolic connections we make with our environments. These works span different time periods and cultures, showing that finding our place in society is a perennial challenge.
The exhibition was curated by interns Lindsey Adwell, Ava Barrett, Leslie Monter Casio, Aviyah Durante, Paige Jester, Finn Kealy, Kathryn Lorentz, Sophia Principe, Alondra Moreno Santana, El Tilghman, Van Tran, Haley Wakeland, and Arianna Wharton, with guidance from Teen Internship Program co-leaders Constance Del Nero and Jason Patterson and Curator Mehves Lelic.
